Itinerary
Day 1 – UK to JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA
Arrive at your chosen UK Airport and check in for your flight to South Africa.
Day 2 – ARRIVE JOHANNESBURG
Arrive in Johannesburg where you will be met and transferred to the 4* Balalaika Hotel, Sandton for a 7 night stay on a B&B basis. Enjoy welcome drinks in the evening.
Days 3 – 7, JOHANNESBURG
1st Test Match South Africa v England, Wanderers Cricket Ground
Transfers provided to/from the ground daily.
Day 8, JOHANNESBURG
Today join our included half day tour of Soweto with lunch. This evening enjoy a tour dinner, hosted by LWTL.
Days 9 - 11, SAFARI, SHEPHERDS TREE LODGE, PILANESBERG
Check out of the Balalaika Hotel and transfer overland (2.5 hours) to the 5* Shepherd’s Tree Game Lodge for a 2 night stay on a Full board basis. Stay includes 4 open top safari drives as well as the facilities at the Game Lodge.
Day 11, SHEPHERDS TREE LODGE, PILANESBERG - JOHANNESBURG
Following a morning game drive and breakfast check out of Shepherds Tree Lodge and transfer overland to the 4* Balalaika Hotel for a 6 night stay on a B&B basis. This afternoon enjoy a Christmas Day lunch.
Days 12 – 16, JOHANNESBURG
2nd Test Match South Africa v England, Centurion Cricket Ground
Transfers provided to/from the ground daily.
Day 17 – JOHANNESBURG to UK
After breakfast, check out of your hotel. You will then be transferred to OR Tambo International Airport Airport for your return flight back to the UK.
Day 18 – End of Tour
Arrive back in UK

4* Protea Hotel Johannesburg Balalaika Sandton
This peaceful hotel offers stylish accommodation in Johannesburg’s suburb of Sandton. It features 2 swimming pools set within gardens, as well as 2 gourmet restaurants and a modern fitness centre. Protea Hotel by Marriott Johannesburg Balalaika Sandton offers a free luxury shuttle service to and from Sandton City & Nelson Mandela Square, which has a direct link to O.R Tambo International Airport, 20 km away. All guest rooms at Protea Hotel Balalaika Sandton are decorated in an English country style and are equipped with air conditioning, a satellite TV and a safe. The private bathrooms come with complimentary toiletries. Breakfast is served in The Conservatory Restaurant which has a garden terrace, and The Bull Run specialises in prime cuts of South African beef. There are several bars and lounges, including The Lords Bar and “Coffee on Twenty” offering on the go items. The Sandton City shopping centre is 600 metres from the hotel, and Nelson Mandela Square and Sandton Convention Centre are both 800 metres away. On-site car parking is available.
5* Shepherds Tree Lodge, Pilanesberg
Shepherds Tree Game Reserve is a lodge concession, located on the south western portion of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve and 18 km away from Sun City. The elegantly furnished rooms offer views of the reserve and come with en-suite bathroom. The suites have a lounge area. Guided game drives in open game viewing vehicles are offered in the morning and evening. The area is malaria-free. Shepherds Tree Game Reserve also includes a spa centre and outdoor pool. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. The lodge is a 2.5-hour drive from Johannesburg.
